Board and Batten...

After minimal research I discovered that the look I'm going for is called Board and Batten. Typically, 12" boards would be attached to the wall vertically and the seams would be covered by 1" strips of wood. That is called the "batten". The first photo is my inspiration. Last night, after the kids went to bed we worked on step two of the project which was getting all of the batten up on the wall. We didn't finish until 10:30pm, but it was worth it to get this part finished!

Today, after I get home from finishing my clients bedroom, I will prime out the whole thing. It is going to make such a huge difference in this room!

Oh, and a HUGE thanks to my Handy Man for all of the help!

David is going to not like you very much...'cause I have been on overload trying to come up with better ways to decorate/paint, etc since you started your blog. Your house inspires me...man, I wish I lived closer so you could help me out! I think I may have to copy your idea in my guest (hopefully future baby room) room...I can't wait to see the end result!

It's looking good KS. I am curious if you are rounding the wood where it curves around the wall?
