.................................................................................

We woke up this morning to fog.

A good thick layer of fog that completely covered the landscape and wrapped up the houses. I couldn't help but smile when I looked out the window...

There's nothing quite like thick fog to to make it feel like Fall has truly arrived.

I have felt differently about decorating for fall this year. I'm not sure what my deal is...except that the weather has been so nice here. Yes, it has been cold, but the sun has been out, which makes it hard to fully let go of summer and embrace the Autumn spirit.

Slowly, but surely, I've been putting out leaves, berries, pumpkins...the traditional decor...

but last night, I stumbled across this image from Country Living and now I'm hooked...

I LOVE how that looks!

I'm thinking they would look great across our big front window.

So today, we'll be making some bats!

And for a different way of giving your pumpkins faces...

(also from Country Living)

How cute is that?

I love it!!

Simple, humorous and a whole different take on Halloween Pumpkins!

It might be just the right time to make our way to the pumpkin patch...

Those bats are so cool! I love creative Halloween decorating! The pumpkins are adorable too and you don't have to cut them up or anything to do that - just buy a mask.

I also LOVE the Country Living bats! I cut out a ton and put them all over our porch and inside our house. Check out the pics on my blog. Such fun!
Just a quick word to the wise - tac 'n stic doesn't work outside! Use duct tape like CL says...
Can't wait to see your pictures!

I am absolutely in love with Fall and always have been. I'm a Southern girl, born and raised and after our blazing hot summers, Fall is the absolute BEST time of year. I always go overboard with my Fall decor. I shared a little on my blog, but my kids always say it looks like Fall exploded in our house!

Now it's on to Halloween, which my younger 2 love to decorate for. I love those bats, too, and I think I'll try them this year. They like creepy Halloween, I sort of like cutesy/traditional Halloween. I try to strike a middle ground with them.

I love that oar, too, and the story behind the numbers. How very special for you and your hubby.

I really enjoyed reading your blog. Your bedroom is beautiful. I am in the middle of a master bedroom re-do. Did your husband build the TV frame. If so could you share some info with me. Blessings...Sherry
