The decorating is done and now it's time to sit back and enjoy it.
Welcome to our home...all dressed up for Christmas!
A few Christmas ornaments and some matching ribbon was all it took to turn our everyday entry mirror into something more festive.
Since each of the kids have their own bedroom this year, they each got a wreath on their door, personalized just for them.
William's favorite color is green...
A major change this year, from years past...our Christmas tree is in our Family Room, instead of the Living Room where it normally appears in December.
This was Will's idea.
I was skeptical, at best.
Ok, honestly...I was not on board with the idea.
At all.
But he fought for what he wanted (got to respect someone who stands up for what they believe in!) and after weeks of debating about it through the month of November, I finally gave in, and the day after Thanksgiving we put the tree up in our Family Room.
So how do I feel about it now?
I LOVE it!
Will was totally right!
His reason for wanting the tree in this room was so that it would be right by the fireplace and next to the mantel that we hang our stockings on. I thought for sure that it would be too crowded and that it wouldn't work.
I am here to say...I was wrong.
(This will make him feel good!)
Will was right!
And I'm sure our tree will be in our family room every Christmas.
It is right off of our kitchen and the place that we spend most of our time, so really...it just makes sense to have it in here.
It's so cozy. Exactly how we want it to feel during the holidays!
For the mantel, I gathered lots of glass - vases, jars, urns...whatever I could fit together on the mantel. It didn't matter that they didn't match or didn't relate to each other. The red and silver ornaments are what create the look...
Our wool stockings were made by my mother-in-law. I love the colors and textures and the boys love that they are so BIG...
I love watching them write their letters to Santa!
This year, the tree was decorated by the kids.
I put some of our Christmas balls around the back and sides of the tree, but everything else was done by the kids. That's why all of the ornaments are hung in a column down the front...
They were just so excited to get them all on!
I love how it looks.
It is perfectly imperfect.
And the best part is how proud of it they are.
To me, it is beautiful.
Crooked star on top, and all!

Everything is SO pretty. The nutcracker mantle is my favorite...and the tree and the letters to Santa...and...well, all of it.
Everything is BEAUTIFUL! I really like the red ornaments in front of the mirror.
I love the tree in the family room and always put my tree where I can sit and look at it at night, I wouldn't have it any other way! Your home looks beautiful (;
Merry Christmas~Kelly
Karla everything is so beautiful. I don't think I can even pick a favorite. I love it all.

I love that you too put personalized wreaths on each of the doors for your children. I have been doing the same since we moved into our home many years ago.
This year I took my oldest son his wreath since he has his own place now. I think he was surprised I would give it up but I really wanted to make it special for him.
Thanks for the tour! ~ Rebecca
There were so many things I love in your pictures!! Thanks so much for sharing and a Merry Christmas to you!
I LOVE all your red! Wish I could see it in person...gonna leave it up till I get there in January??? I've gotta take mine all down shortly after Christmas...unless I want to come home to Christmas decor January 16th:)
Fabulous! I too love the idea of having the tree in a room that's used frequently. Kudos to one smart hubby! Does he cook too? :)
Thanks for linking up to the Christmas party!

You have a lovely home. The reds on the mantel are stunning! I also like the directional symbols at the top of the room. I need those!

Karla, I especially like what you did on the fireplace, it looks great! the stockings are great too. Holiday blessings, Marla
For various reasons, I am going minimal on the holiday decor this year, so I really enjoyed seeing a home all decked out for Christmas!
this couldn't be more perfect!
Thank you for sharing!
Happy Holidays!
I love your home. It is so pretty! I agree with you, the tree in the family room is perfect!! Great job!
Your mantel is gorgeous!!
It's all so lovely! I love that your decorations are beautiful but not over the top. That tree is in the perfect spot!
Beautiful, just beautiful! LOVE all the glass on the mantle. I think I may 'borrow' your ornaments hanging in front of the mirror idea. I have been needing a little something for mine... thanks! ;)
love everything! That glittery snowflake on a peice of wood at the end is so cute!

Loved your house. And I adore the stockings!!! I put a tree in both our family room & our living room. You ought to give that a try sometime.
You know, I let my kiddos decorate the tree as well. It's just so magic for them. It's one thing I've had to let go of so that they feel like they are involved in the Christmas decorating...and I agree with you...it's perfect just the way they do it!!
Your home is just beautiful. I did a couple of things with the epsom salt this year too. I am going to try of your candles if I have time.
Can you believe how many of us posted to the tour! I am amazed. I'll still be looking at these this time next year.
Have a Blessed Christmas.
Charla
I just love the look of the red ornaments hanging over your light blue mirror. YOu really have a beautiful home. Thanks for sharing.
I think that your house looks great. It is so sweet that your kids decorated the tree for you. I am not that kind of mother. :( I am glad that I only have one child and he never asked to put ornaments on the tree. At 15 yrs. old they just want you to put it up. LOL
Beautiful home & what great Christmas ideas that I'll be stealing for next year. Have a wonderful New Year!
Simply stunning! I love it all!
