Our New Addition...

It has been days since I've posted.

Sorry for the disappearance.

But I have good reason.

I would like to introduce you to...

Scout

Awww...

Isn't he so cute?

We just got him on Friday.

He's a Blue Merle Corgi and he's 3/4 Corgi and 1/4 Chihuahua.

He's such a good little guy.

It took a lot of time and research to find him. We wanted the right dog for our family. Not just the first puppy we saw and fell in love with - because, let's face it...all puppies are easy to fall in love with, right?
(We made that mistake several years ago and learned our lesson the hard way, promising ourselves never to let it happen again.)

We headed up to Bellingham on Friday morning - a two hour drive - and met with a breeder, intending to see Scout's sister. I had decided a couple of months ago that when we did finally decide on a dog, that it would be a girl. But once we got to the breeder's farm, it became clear that she wasn't right for us at all...
but he was perfect.

We decided on his name on the long car ride home and it fits him to a T.

We couldn't have asked for a better Valentine!

Owen is in heaven - he's been talking about getting a dog ever since...well, ever since he could talk.

William loves having a furry little companion.

And Ellison, hmm...I'll just say that her intense fear of dogs is rapidly subsiding. She's fallen in love with him.

Having Scout is good for her!

I'm sure you'll be seeing more of him. He's too cute not to snap photos of!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

I hope it was wonderful.

P.S. Will and I found a great deal on Craigslist yesterday! I'll tell you all about it and show you our plans soon. It's a project that we've never tackled before, but have been wanting to try for a long, long time. And it will definitely make for some great before and after photos!

Aw, so sweet!! Your post just creates an ache in my heart because I would LOVE to get another dog. So would my boys. My husband? Not so much. I want a dog so much I can taste (pet?) it! :)

Can't wait to see more pics of him in the coming days/weeks/months!

He's adorable!!!!!!!

We got a puppy for Christmas and he's a boy too. I have no idea why it had to be a boy. Just another male for me to deal with. Anyway, he's a lab and he's a monster....my screen door is ruined. I caught him jerking on the old antenna line that runs UP THE SIDE OF OUR HOUSE. The antenna was shaking! He torments my cats. He pees in the floor.

Oy. And yet, I love him! Those brown eyes get me every time. Enjoy your sweet baby!

We have a full bred corgi and she is the best dog. Loves children! Since they are herding dogs we really needed to work with her about the whole nipping thing... she is great about it, but it was a lot of work. Not sure how a mixed corgi breed will do with it.. but its something to be aware of. Have fun! They are great dogs!

Awww, congratulations! He is adorable :-) We, too, have done our research and have been looking for the "right fit" for our family. Corgis are one of several breeds we are considering. I love their big ears, their "smiles", and their easy going yet mischievious temperments. Wishing your family many years of happiness with Scout.

How sweet! We just got our boys a boxer puppy a few weeks ago. So much fun, so much work!!! I'm pretty sure it's more work than a newborn. Best thing we did was sleep in the same room with him for the first two weeks. He doesn't cry at all now at night. Good luck!!

we have the best dog ever and i credit it to watching the dog whisperer. you should read a cesear milan book (i think he has 3 now) it really creates a good dog! if they are walked every day they will not chew on everything or have accidents in the house! highly reccomend!

Very cute! Good luck with the house breaking. That is not the fun part.

He is adorable.

Darling, just darling...I am glad you took the time to research the right dog for you. I used to work for a non-profit animal organization and saw so many dogs without homes because people chose the wrong dog for them...so kuddos for you!!! And, yes he is definitely too cute to not take photos of!

BTW, we are just about to start the board and batten project you posted on last year. This weekend actually, if all goes well! I was so inspired by how wonderfully it turned out in your home! So here goes...I will let you know when we finish and link to your blog when we are done! :)

I hope you are having a beautiful day!
