My best friend, Kelly, and I have been planning a Girl's Weekend for......ever!
At least, it felt like forever.
(It's been 8 years in the making!)
But the first weekend of September, we had luck on our side. With only four days notice, the stars and planets aligned and we miraculously got the chance to leave our kiddos at home with our husbands and take off for some much needed rest and relaxation.
And shopping.
:)
We spent that Friday morning doing our everyday Mom duties, but the moment the kids were safe and sound at school, we hit the road.
Destination: Pacific Beach, WA
More specifically, The Coastal Nest.
We had a great time!
I could go into all of the details of the cottage, but really, the photos speak for themselves.
First, a quick rundown of the spaces:
The Living Room:
The Coastal Nest is certainly quaint and cozy!
But what makes this cottage so adorable and comfortable, is Lisa's obvious eye for details and decor.
Take a look to see just what I mean...
(Click on the photo to be taken to the Coastal Nest Facebook Page, and let Lisa know that Karla from ITLT sent you!)
The moment that Kelly and I walked in, I knew I would be stealing some of Lisa's ideas and using them in my own home.
The cottage is brimming with inspiration!

Many thanks to Lisa for letting us stay at the Coastal Nest on such short notice!
You have a sweet little spot there!

WOW - it looks DIVINE! What an amazing find - and SO nice to share it with your best friend. I'm long overdue some proper girl talk and company, makes me want to organise something similar myself - thanks for the inspiration. xx p.s. just found you - LOVE your blog am now a follower!
Holy cow, I want to live there! It looks so calm and peaceful both inside and out. What's the drooping / dripping floral chandeliery thing made of - was it paper or vinyl or what? She did a lovely job decorating. Thanks for sharing!
Lucky you! It is absolutely darling. I think there wasn't a piece inside or outside of that cottage that wasn't thought over! So sweet!

I'm off to check out your Facebook page....if you like, you can check out mine as well at http://www.facebook.com/seasideinteriors .... Have a wonderful day!
I loved to stay there. I also wanted to say I love the title of your blog. It is the little things that make a house a home. Not many people remember that. Thanks for the reminder.
Your photos are the best P.R. that coastal cottage could ever receive. You've captured it all. I LOVE the paperart lamp...the shells laid out all around the foundation of the cottage...the basket of books...all the little touches that make it such a wonderful place to visit.
Going to check out their blog right now. SO glad I found yours tonight!
These are ALL such great ideas and I refuse to pick my favorite! :)
Just gorgeous!! I'd love to steal every decorating detail there!
