I woke up this morning thinking that it was going to be a normal, routine day.
But lucky for me, it turned out to be the day that this...
Isn't she a beauty?Way back in March of last year, Ali from Little Bits Of Bliss posted pictures from her ugly-table-turned-farmhouse-table project, and for me...
it was love at first sight!
I immediately posted it to my Tumblr and kept it in the back of my mind waiting for the perfect moment to propose the table makeover to Will.
Luckily, he was totally game and on board with the idea!
(I needed him to build the top for me.)
We bought our kitchen table back in March of 1999, the same year that we got married. It has stood up to 5 moves and 3 kids (and all that they can dish out) over the past 12 years, so it only seems right that she gets a makeover.
She's definitely earned it!
Off came the top...
(thank you, children)...
Then bye-bye blue, hello crisp, clean white.
I used the same paint that the Board and Batten is painted in, which is the same as all of the trim throughout our house. I wanted the legs to be white anyway, but most of all, I wanted to use what I already had and I have plenty of this sitting around...
I cannot wait to see our "new" table!
So that's project #1 for 2011.
So far, so good!

Project #2... come to Ally's house and do the same. :) I can't wait to see the finished table Karla!
Looks great so far!!!
You ( and a few others!) inspired us to try the board and batten. I just put pics up on my blog. I should have given you credit, but I forgot where I saw everything!!!! Thanks for your inspiration!!
Wow, that is going to be amazing! I can't wait to see the finished product. Have a great weekend!
How exciting! I cant wait to see the final product!
Wow! Your project looks great so far. That's so exciting. :)
I love that inspiration photo!! The need, dark stain on that table top is gorgeous!
We did the same kind of thing to our Potter Barn Harvest table a couple months ago. I hated the top that it came with, and I have always loved planked table tops, so we just removed the old top and put planks on the table legs. I like my table so much better now!! I can't wait to see how yours turns out!!
Here's a link to ours if you want to see how it turned out:

i LOVE IT!
How exciting!
I would love a table top like that. actually there are a few tabletops from PB that I would like - just not the price of PB :)
Can't wait to see your results! Your "new" table will look great withh the board and batten in your dining area.
This is awesome! I would love to do this to our table. However, I don't think I would be able to talk my husband into it!
Great Job!!! I LOVE it...I also love the idea of putting "project #" at the end of the post...what a way to stay motivated!
Did you hear me squeal, cause I just squealed. You have the same table that I have and I have that same inspiration post bookmarked as my dream table. *squeal* I'm giddy over hear. Can't wait to see your after picture so I can show my husband what a little hardwork will do!
I had the same table and did the same thing. Using the same picture from Little Bits of Bliss. I just fell in love with her table. My father in law helped me make it last fall. It is just amazing what a drab old table can become. Mine was just sad after all the moves and kids.
I'm inspired! I can't wait to see the finished results!
How many of us have that same kind of table that needs a makeover?! Very exciting and I am definitely bookmarking this!
Hey nice to find you! Great site! I think you've just inspired me to paint the base of my table white!
Thanks!
